tl;Dr this late into the tier, it's worth taking the crit/sks pieces because the crit substat gives more the more you have while dhit's 25% bonus damage isn't worth as much now

Auto targeting isn’t really a thing but there’s a targeting shortcut you can use. While holding L2/R2, tap L1/R1. It’ll cycle to the nearest enemy to the left or right respectively.

How do I unlock my job?

To unlock your class' job you need to be level 30, complete all of your class quests and the main scenario quest 'Sylph Management' (lvl 20 quest) to be able to pick up your job unlock quest. Once you've done the initial unlock quest, you will be given a soul crystal which you must equip to become your class' job.

Glamour FAQ

'What is Glamour and how do I unlock it?'

Glamour is the process of changing an equipment's look into a different item with the use of Glamour Prisms. You can unlock the ability to glamour by doing the level 15 quests 'If I Had a Glamour' in Vesper Bay, West Thanalan. Although not required, you can unlock the ability to dye gear with the nearby quest 'Color Your World'. You can get the Orange Juice needed by talking to the nearby Merchant & Mender. Items used for glamouring are not lost upon use.

'How do I glamour? Where do I get more Prisms?'

Glamouring is done by right-clicking (Square or X on controllers) on the equipment you want to glamour and choosing the option 'Cast Glamour'. After clicking this you choose the item you want the appearance on the right half of the menu that opened up. You can get more Glamour Prisms by either crafting them after completing the quest 'Absolutely Glamourous', buying them from your Grand Company Quartermaster, or buying them from the marketboard.

The Global Cooldown is the time between when you can use most skills/spells, which is usually 2.5 seconds. When someone says oGCD, they're talking about a skill/spell that can be used without having to wait for the global cooldown to pass.

sometimes it takes me ages to get something off mog station. There is a button, however, in the mailbox, that you can click to update, look at this screenshot below, also, sometimes logging out and back in can speed up delivery times. It's the button called "reward/purchase delivery request"

The only free Fantasia is the one you get as a reward for completing the 2.0 MSQ. There is another one available if you buy the Heavensward Collector's Edition upgrade through the Mogstation, but that does cost money so while it's an additional reward, I wouldn't say it's free.

Which world should I pick?

You can play on any world on any datacenter within FFXIV. Aside from the languages spoken, the physical location of the servers, and the status of each world, there are no major differences. This also means population on a given server is quite meaningless.

The majority of content is cross-world, with the exception of Free Companies, Linkshells, and restrictions when visiting other worlds.

If you don't mind where you play, choose a world that is Preferred or New for character creation bonuses. Check world status by using !status <world name> or via the Lodestone. For information about the status types, use !faq worldtype.

Notable worlds:

Balmung & Mateus (Role-playing)

You might have luck in "The Balance" discord, its often where players go to find that type of specific information. Usually its for lv80 but sometimes they'll either give you 70 or you can work it out based on 80 rotation easy. Depends on the joob

How do I unlock my job?

To unlock your class' job you need to be level 30, complete all of your class quests and the main scenario quest 'Sylph Management' (lvl 20 quest) to be able to pick up your job unlock quest. Once you've done the initial unlock quest, you will be given a soul crystal which you must equip to become your class' job.

'When can I get my first mount?'

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose and you'll need to buy the Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 needed Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes after 'The Company You Keep'.

'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Besides looks, all mounts are the same speed along with being able to fly. Some mounts allow multiple people to ride at once.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

How do I unlock my job?

To unlock your class' job you need to be level 30, complete all of your class quests and the main scenario quest 'Sylph Management' (lvl 20 quest) to be able to pick up your job unlock quest. Once you've done the initial unlock quest, you will be given a soul crystal which you must equip to become your class' job.

Which world should I pick?

You can play on any world on any datacenter within FFXIV. Aside from the languages spoken, the physical location of the servers, and the status of each world, there are no major differences. This also means population on a given server is quite meaningless.

Hello everyone, I purchased ff on steam and attempted to install/login. I had tried the trial previously on this account. Here's my experience, sorry for the wall of text - Purchased game, installed. Tried to make a new account, apparently I already had one of that email. Tried to reset it, no luck. Made a new second account on diff email, tried logging in, got wrong password errors, stuck in a loop of trying to reset the pass. Third account I made I got the error "You cannot use this function. Please contact the SQUARE ENIX Support Center for additional details. Error Code: i2501". Does anyone have any idea what I can do here besides refund ff and not play it?
There's no way to log in to buy game time on steam. Every time I log into the SE site to buy time it gives me the incorrect password issue again, with an unresolving loop. An absolutely waste of my time.

'What is Glamour and how do I unlock it?'

Glamour is the process of changing an equipment's look into a different item with the use of Glamour Prisms. You can unlock the ability to glamour by doing the level 15 quests 'If I Had a Glamour' in Vesper Bay, West Thanalan. Although not required, you can unlock the ability to dye gear with the nearby quest 'Color Your World'. You can get the Orange Juice needed by talking to the nearby Merchant & Mender. Items used for glamouring are not lost upon use.

'How do I glamour? Where do I get more Prisms?'

Glamouring is done by right-clicking (Square or X on controllers) on the equipment you want to glamour and choosing the option 'Cast Glamour'. After clicking this you choose the item you want the appearance on the right half of the menu that opened up. You can get more Glamour Prisms by either crafting them after completing the quest 'Absolutely Glamourous', buying them from your Grand Company Quartermaster, or buying them from the marketboard.
