just tried to calibrate. Joystick works in steam menus and all buttons during FFXIV controller calibration are all fine. Just not specifically the joystick.

You can space out the leveling a bit between each. You don’t always have to go one level at a time. It is easier to manage if you go in chunks of five levels or so per class. Also you’re not required to hold on to every single ingredient you collect especially at early levels. Early level materials are sold by most vendors and each crafting guild has a shop that sells most basic materials required for the first 10-15 levels or so. It is also safer and perhaps better in the end if you keep your gatherers higher leveled than your crafters.

Paladin has the biggest amount of defensive utility skills I would call them, stuff that's very situational but useful when it comes up. Their rotation revolves around 2 different buff windows, one physical and one magical. So you cycle between hitting your enemies with your sword and hitting them with spells
