for future reference your main seal gain for the early levels is the grand company hunting log and completing FATEs near your level

you can also get seals by doing crafting/gathering turn-ins at your grand company if you have those unlocked

Which world should I pick?

So update, I thought I’d download the free demo from steam to see if it’d work and it let me log into the client but then said my licence had expired.

I downloaded the client off the website to play the free trial. Steam’s version didn’t work so I uninstalled and tried the original client again but new character in a new server and same issue happened. :/

IMO Ninja starts feeling pretty great once you get Armor Crush at 54 which makes mudra management, another part of Ninja, a lot easier.

I downloaded the free trial from the Square Enix webpage, not from Steam.
There is a sale going on for the Complete Edition right now on Steam.
If I purchase the Complete Edition on Steam it will be added to my library and can download and launch it.
BUT, can I upgrade my Square Enix version with the Steam purchase, so I don't loose my progress? If yes, with the Steam CD key on Mog Station? Just "Upgrade to full version" and enter via "Enter Registration code"?

Hello all. I just recently bought complete bundle after playing the demo to level around 20 as a gladiator but getting too intimidated to do the quest I had reached as a result of it being a group quest and not being able to contact or play with friends, as well as this being the first mmo I've tried I enjoyed enough to play. Everything I did in the demo was alone and now that I've got only 30 days to really play before committing completely, I am trying to make some decisíons that pro players probably can help with. I originally was going to use the beginner section but on reddit I saw this question posted in the subforum that corresponds to this room or whatever. what's the BLM rotation at brayflox's?
One has Fire III but not the 3rd astral/umbral point or freeze, so no quickswapping ice/fire, but thunder traits are available.
I'm struggling to keep up dps when I have to swap to fire w/ a 3s cast or lose by swapping manually.

You can get gear at lower levels with poetics. Higher levels with tomestones and raids. Marketboard is always a good bet since it can be upgraded

you would still have to do group content to progress the MSQ like dungeons and trials.

but from lvl71 you can do trusts, which are group content solo in dungeons

Heyo, this might not be the best thing to hear after you’ve already bought the game, but you can play the free trial ‘till Lv60 and until the Heavensward portion of the storyline (40h+ of gaming). If you’re willing to make a new character, that should give you more than enough time to see whether you want to commit to FFXIV, since the trial is content-gated (not limited by time).

Hm, well. 30 days isn’t a lot of time to race through the story, and most of FFXIV content tends to be solo. You can make a character on Crystal if you’re super into RPing and see if a Free Company will invite you, but idk if it’ll be the experience you’re looking for.

arcanist starts in Limsa, Thaumaturge starts in Ul'dha, so if your buddy starts as gladiator start as thaum, if they start as warrior start as arc,
then you can play together from the start.
