To unlock your class' job you need to be level 30, complete all of your class quests and the main scenario quest 'Sylph Management' (lvl 20 quest) to be able to pick up your job unlock quest. That's Rested Experience, which is an extra source of bonus experience shared between all of your classes. You can get the same results by farming out the Eden tiers (as you qualify for them by ilevel), YorHa (same thing), and Crystarium (as you get the tomestones for it), it will just take longer than dropping a couple of million gil on a full Exarchic set.

- These are how you reach the endgame and every other bit of content is locked behind it to some extent. MANDATORY
- These unlock a feature, instanced content, job actions, or a thing that is important for you to have. Do the ones related to your job/class and ones that unlock new content
- These usually have very little exp/gil as reward and are usually just part of the world/lore expansion. Mostly optional unless you are interested in doing them for the fluff

There isn’t a dedicated support role but most jobs have some form of party utility available to them. Support-ish elements but not quite fully support focused in their entirety. Even the healers have half decent damage output and are generally expected to contribute when not healing.
