Wearing correct set is important since each class have stat that they scale on for dmg. For example ninja want dexterity so equipping striking wont do any good for the since it give strength stats.

Tbf, this "idk which set to choose" thing is fixed after lvl60 when gear start to becomr job locked (no more "all classee")

How do I get Grand Company Seals?

Once you are Sergeant 2nd Class you can turn in Pink/Green/Blue-rarity gear in exchange for more seals.

but just a bit warning potd can make your burned out quick if you just spam it whole day

Which leads to a greater rate of exp over time.

This is also why tanks and healers aren’t recommended to level through PotD as they get fast dungeon queues.

'When can I get my first mount?'

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose and you'll need to buy the Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 needed Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes after 'The Company You Keep'.

'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Besides looks, all mounts are the same speed along with being able to fly. Some mounts allow multiple people to ride at once.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

I do suggest doing the other ARR beast tribes too, because when you max them all you get some extra dialog later and a cool item.

Which world should I pick?

You can play on any world on any datacenter within FFXIV. Aside from the languages spoken, the physical location of the servers, and the status of each world, there are no major differences. This also means population on a given server is quite meaningless.

The majority of content is cross-world, with the exception of Free Companies, Linkshells, and restrictions when visiting other worlds.

If you don't mind where you play, choose a world that is Preferred or New for character creation bonuses. Check world status by using !status <world name> or via the Lodestone. For information about the status types, use !faq worldtype.

Any MSQ rewards missed can be obtained at the calamity salvager or from the market board except the free fantasia, which is forfeit. Tales of Adventure: One <JOBNAME> Journey This item increases a given job to level 70. It will not skip your story progress to level 70. You cannot use this if you've already completed the level 70 job quest for that given job.
