Hard to say, generally it’s not, but a 12 hour character isn’t much loss either

Since 12 hour is mostly early game cutscenes. On a new character, if you skip cutscenes, you can get though those 12 hours in a few hours I think

1. level up everything to 20. this can be done rather quick with basic quests / recipe spam. i mean every crafter and every gatherer at the same time as they complement one another, and they share gear
2. go to ishgard restoration, gather materials there to get your crafters up, craft collectables to turn-in. this is the most budget way of doing it. you may also do leves to speed up the process since those give a ton of exp
3. you could alternatively do normal collectable/gatherer turn-ins at higher levels since those get easier as well

Rested Experience FAQ

'Why does my EXP bar have some blue or faded yellow in it?'

That's Rested Experience, which is an extra source of bonus experience shared between all of your classes. You gradually earn this while inside a sanctuary (town or area with a major aetheryte), regardless of whether you're online or not. Sanctuaries are also indicated with a crescent moon icon near your experience bar.

'How much of a boost is it?'

The most amount of rested experience you can have at once is one and a half levels of experience. That means that lower level jobs use up the rested experience faster than higher level jobs do.

Hi all, new player here. I made the mistake of starting an account via Steam and now I am stuck using it. I have dinged 60 and finished the trial edition, and want to buy the complete edition to continue on with the story, as I'm really enjoying the game thus far.

I see that the complete edition went on sale for 50% off for the 2020 Steam Summer Sale. Does that typically happen? Obviously there is no way to predict whether or not the game will go on sale via this year's Steam Summer Sale, but based on historical sale times, is it fair to expect that it might go on sale again via Steam in 2-3 weeks? Just wondering everyone's thoughts. I would hate to buy the game now only to have it be heavily discounted in a few weeks time.

Just be aware of the following restrictions:

1.) You cannot just buy Endwalker and go straight in. You'll need the Complete Edition (or the Starter Edition + Endwalker) as well. Until the official release at the end of November, Endwalker does not include any of the other expansions.
2.) If you do purchase the game, you will not be able to go back to the free trial anymore. After 30 days you'll be required to pay the sub.

3.) You won't be able to apply the Endwalker preorder to your account until you've applied the Complete Edition (or the Starter Edition) to your account first, so you won't be able to collect the preorder rewards without doing that.

Joking aside, most low level baits can be purchased from item vendors in each of the starting cities.

You feed specific fruits to your chocobo while it's stabled. Once you feed it all of the fruits, leave it stabled for six hours minimum to apply the new color. This link should give you an idea as to what fruits you need. https://ffxivchocobo.com/en

Keep in mind however that there is some rng in regards to how much each fruit changes the color, even if you follow the feeding order list the site gives you.

A stable is required to change the color, unfortunately. If your FC has a house and stable of their own, you can do it there. Buying an apartment also comes with a communal stable. Aside from that, however, there are no other ways to do it.

The trial can only be played where you started it.
You can buy PC version though and activate it on the same account to continue the character on PC.

That ends the trial though and you have to pay for sub time after the free 30 days are over.
In case you then also want to play on PS4 you would need to also buy the game for PS4 and activate it on the same account.

If you don't care about your progress but still want to play the trial on PC you would need to make a new SE account and start the trial on PC. (I would recommend not doing the trial on Steam though.)
