Controller player, when I used to play when I'd get in moments like the magitek armor suit (castrum MSQ); before it locked my hotbar to the duty actions and allowed me to use the actions like my hotbar, but now it's showing up as a separate hotbar above my hotbars and no matter what buttons I press I can't access it. 'When can I get my first mount?'

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose and you'll need to buy the Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 needed Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes after 'The Company You Keep'.

'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Besides looks, all mounts are the same speed along with being able to fly. Some mounts allow multiple people to ride at once.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

I wanted to create a new character on another server but it says I have too many and need to delete one. I go back to my main server to delete one of the alts I have on there and it won't let me click those characters at all since i'm on the 1 character per server sub. Any way to delete those so i can make a new character on another server?

Typically Job Quests are contained within their expansions separately. If you have not reached the next expansion in , you need to continue the main story quests until you reach the next expansion, denoted by giant letters naming said expansion.

I personally recommend don’t activate and use the code until you get bored of Free trail.
Since Free Trail is A Realm Reborn + Heavensward, which is basically half of the game.
The story quest in this game is mandatory, so you’ll need to do the story first anyway.

As Free Trail you are only limited in some social functions, like can’t message other people privately and stuff

Or if you don’t care about the monthly sub price, then you can just register the code immediately

I currently have iLevel 400 gear. The main quest is offering me loot boxes with L403 gear. Should I open them or save them for an alt? Is 400 to 403 much of an improvement?

403 gear requires a higher lvl than 70, so i'd say open it esp if your a tank or healer

Memes and jokes aside, GNB feels much more squishy, than PLD (my first tank), and I struggle with Wall-to-Wall pulls. To the point, that 2-3 packs gathered literally one-shot me on ~80% hp, using Superbolide during such pulls became nearly mandatory, with using all other DCDs in between, 2 or even 3 at once. Is gunbreaker was designed to be squishy tank and rely on kiting and victory or death style? I'd say my gear is bad, because I'm doing roulettes lvl 75 right now, but aren't I'm synched? I was receiving like triple less damage while leveling PLD. Or it's just his shield, that mitigates nuclear explosions?

Yeah, while playing an alt, you will very likely grab the 400 gear right away as soon as you hit 70, and will have the same dilemma when they hit 74 and have to decide if you want the smol upgrade

If you are interested in making gil, consider checking out the MB to see what 403 piece sells well. Since some are used for Leves/GC turnins, they could sell for a lot

Gunbreaker isn't squisher. Paladin has a permanent passive mitigation via block

Gunbreaker actuality has more on demand Cooldowns than paladin

For a full character look change, you need to use a Fantasia, either through the one freebie given through the story or by buying them from the mogstation

A good example of how the game doesn't balance at low levels is the 8 tank clear of UCOB, one of the hardest fights in the game. 70 GNB is more powerful than other tanks at 70, so much so they can act as DPS, hence why there are 3 used in the clear

PLD wasn't even the MT, they were the healers, two WAR's tanked it

I don't know what's UCOB, I'm talking about simple pulling packs in ~70 dungeons. When I was leveling PLD, I could tank entire zone with no cooldowns used, while on GNB I use everything and still always on 20% hp

Once you get to max level, it's a lot of the same stuff regardless of where you go. You've got max level dungeons, raids, and content. Hunts and FATE farming. Savage progression if that's your thing.

What do all these quest icons mean?

- These are how you reach the endgame and every other bit of content is locked behind it to some extent. MANDATORY
- These unlock a feature, instanced content, job actions, or a thing that is important for you to have. Do the ones related to your job/class and ones that unlock new content
- These usually have very little exp/gil as reward and are usually just part of the world/lore expansion. Mostly optional unless you are interested in doing them for the fluff
- These are quests you can do more than once, how often you can repeat it is up to the individual quest.

@pseudo pulsar what i did to level my craftets was this. You eventually unlock beast tribes. In ARR there's a crafter focused one. I use it to level my crafters, I had a few 50s and all minimum 30s at the end. I had the preferred server exp buff though

And then in HW, another beast tribe gives excellent exp for 50-60
