If you like healing, then go for healer. As Rigged mentioned, even healers are expected to mostly do damage (overhealing is seen as a waste of time and effort, and fights are scaled with healer dps in mind), but if you want to play a healer, then do so.

No. This game does not have an overly cutesy nature. While there are cute characters, it's really a JRPG, which tend to be a "hero's journey" type story, starting out fairly lighthearted and getting increasingly dark and heavy as you progress.

Without seeing the exact error, we can only guess. My thoughts would be an installation error, or a DirectX error. If the former, you can use the ffxivquicklauncher. If the latter, you may need to reinstall DirectX11

Only if the node has bonus yield on it. Sometimes you need certain gear to unlock the bonus yield, but your stats or level alone don't matter (outside of pick clean)

That's the best gear there is. There's Landsaint, which is better than unmelded Aesthete, but worse than pentamelded Aesthete.

You can do the weekly tower for a piece of 520 gear, Eden's Promise normal gives as many as you want if you're willing to spam it, and you can get 510 from the market board if you want
