What are Role Quests?

Role Quests serve as a replacement for Job-specific quests for Shadowbringers and are split into four categories (Tank, Healer, Physical DPS, and Magical DPS). These are unlocked with the quest 'Warrior of Darkness' at 71 and all start in the Crystarium around x10-11, y15-16.

At least one of these Role Quest series must be entirely completed in order to complete the Shadowbringers story. Completion of these quests, along with having the appropriate Job at 80, is also required to claim job-specific level 80 i430 gear from Grenoldt in The Tempest.

Typically Job Quests are contained within their expansions separately. If you have not reached the next expansion in , you need to continue the main story quests until you reach the next expansion, denoted by giant letters naming said expansion.

nope, basically gotta do it all over again. there are certain quests that are one time deals but unlock that step. Like Atma's unlock quest "Up in Arms" only has to be done once, but you still have to do the atma stage. You just go out and farm fates with a zenith

one thing to know about FFXIV: its a final fantasy game first, MMO second. The story, or MSQ, is the main driving force. it takes a WHILE to get to endgame, bc the devs want you do enjoy the world and characters first. Heavensward and Shadowbringers both have excellent stories, and would fit right at home as a single player game.

correct, the early game is a lot of world building.. and slowish gameplay. But it sets up all the major events of the other stories, and gets you familiar to the way FFXIV works as a base. It treats new players like they've never played an MMO, which is how they helped me (local idiot) get into the game hahaha

You can play on any world on any datacenter within FFXIV. Aside from the languages spoken, the physical location of the servers, and the status of each world, there are no major differences. This also means population on a given server is quite meaningless.

The majority of content is cross-world, with the exception of Free Companies, Linkshells, and restrictions when visiting other worlds.

If you don't mind where you play, choose a world that is Preferred or New for character creation bonuses. Check world status by using !status <world name> or via the Lodestone. For information about the status types, use !faq worldtype.

I think that the most popular ways to fill it up is to have a learning party or to have a farm party (and sometimes the farm party is also a learning party to ensure more interest if interest is otherwise insufficient). If you're just looking for a one-off clear, then you're going to have even more trouble.

Hello! I am sort of a returning player after taking a break since February. I went to go buy a game time card, but upon clicking the button to fully pay for the order, a message popped up saying that the order was being processed, but quickly went away. I have never had this payment processing problem before, and I find it strange that I never actually got any error message or anything.

Is anybody experiencing this issue? All of my information and credit info is the same, same location, same computer/internet browser, ect...

The difference between each substat's effect on output is very small. For example, if you had +2000 DET/+0 DH from gear, switching to +0 DET/+2000 DH would be a 0.52% damage gain. At 12,000 DPS, that would take you to 12,062 DPS—a difference you couldn't detect by eyeballing your logs and one that, in most cases, wouldn't shift you even a single percentile point in performance.

In fact, this difference is so small that with the considerable damage variance in the game (+/- 5% RNG, crit/dh rates), we would not even know it exists had we not reverse engineered the exact damage formula!
