yellow scrip gear is level 60 iirc, and you'll probably have a lot of scrips from leveling before you reach that, if you're leveling through normal collectables, so might as well buy the gear, it's probably gonna be a big stat boost

you need to do job quests at some point since the level 65 quest gives one of your best skills for durability regeneration.
For the level 60 scrip gear, I don't recommend trying to get full sets since they're all class specific. The accessories, belt, and (if needed) the tools should be the main focuses. Accessories and belt since they're not class-specific, and tools for being the biggest boosts in stats.

Lost Assassination is the general go-to option for increasing your damage. a DPS banner like Noble Ends or Honoured Sacrifice is nice to pair, but they require special care to not die from them.

As for macros that PS4/PS5 players may want specifically for them, one that I ALWAYS recommend is going to system config > controller settings and changing it so that clicking in the right stick executes macro #98 or macro #99 in the Shared macro section instead of switching to first person camera. With that option selected you would put in a sprint macro that activates sprint to save an action space for ALL classes
