'When can I get my first mount?'

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose and you'll need to buy the Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 needed Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes after 'The Company You Keep'.

'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Besides looks, all mounts are the same speed along with being able to fly. Some mounts allow multiple people to ride at once.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

Aesthetics are personal, they're all over. You can buy them from other players (not always cheaply), they can drop in dungeons. Glamour is.... it's a huge part of the game so it's hard to really nail down what you personally like and when that aesthetic starts to show up for you.

you can find good cosmetics wherever you can find gear, you can like a level 5 crafted top or a level 80 savage raid weapon drop, lots of places have lots of different, and good looking, gear

Yes. MSQ is everything. Just be aware that since you're both CNJ you will not be able to queue for instances together, as CNJ is a healer class, and light parties are limited to 1 healer per party.

Its not like ive been losing at all, but i feel like i could benefit from knowing how to do my job better.
