In HUD Layout, go to Target Bar and click the small gear to the right of the drop down box. Then check the box for Display Target Info Independently. That allows you to move enemy HP, cast bars, and status effects separately. I recommend putting the enemy cast bar dead center in your screen and making it max size. Impossible to miss enemy casts that way.

As you level up you will gain more and more oGCD healing tools. Eventually the goal is to minimise the use of GCD healing spells as much as possible, so you can spend your GCDs on damage spells instead.

One main tip I have for optimizing your heals is having a general idea of how much your spells heal for. With that in mind you can know which tools will be enough for which situations.

AKA if Cure 2 heals for 1k HP and the tank has 2k HP, you can wait until they're near or below 1k HP to use Cure 2 on them.

The level 74 Leve "The Proper Precautions" which want 3 Bluespirit Alembics.
The level 76 Leve "A Budding Business" which want 3 Titanbronze Tassets of Striking.
The level 78 Leve "Joined at the Waist" which wants 3 Dwarven Mythril Plate Belts of Casting.

The higher level leve the better gil reward, but needs more materials which can be more expensive.

The Alembic one looks to be the easiest in terms of overall material cost, due to not needing Alkahests, but as always check your server prices.
