There is better gear...tome gear is 520 (upgrades to 530), 24man gear at 520 and savage gear at 530. If you're not raiding then 510 is fine...and even for raiding it's the bare minimum

You'll get crafted gear or the equivalent (or better) just doing MSQ, class quests, and dungeons along the way.
You'll also easily be able to farm gear with a higher level job for a lower level one in dungeons and stuff.
So crafted isn't really worth keeping at low levels.

The easiest way to level BLU is to take a level 80 friend, not in a party, out to Kholusia (one of the ShB zones), then you tag enemies and your friend kills them.

However failing that, the best way to level BLU is to party up with other BLU, and then murder things in progressively higher level zones (FATEs are good for this) until you can go out to The Lochs and get your last 7-10 levels from FATEs there.

You should (if you want to) complete the Crystal Tower quest too. They will open up your first alliance raid daily roulettes. Which will give you tomes daily if you run it. Plus the story is great and the alliance dungeons are fun!

There are in the game actual treasure maps that can be obtained usually from gathering. This lead to resource challenges that give rewards. Some even have mini dungeons that give rewards based on your completion and success.
Nodes of higher levels give higher level maps.

Up until max level, yes. However at max level there are other methods to obtain gear that aren't tomestones, such as items dropped from Savage raids that can be turned in for gear.

Otherwise you turn in for one and gotta restart for the other. You can avoid this by farming up all the items you need before you turn it in so you can just turn it in on another job when you get to that step.
