Mentors are memes...all their purpose is is to invite people to novice network

The "mentor" system is a sort of general systemwide thing. There's no real 1:1 mentoring.

Basically any player who meets the mentor requirements can become a mentor - for combat jobs that's leveling one of each job type to max level and running a certain number of instances, and getting a certain number of commendations.

It doesn't necessarily mean that anyone with the mentor status is truly qualified to mentor other players though.

Using the right kind of food will give you a little bit of extra damage/healing. And sometimes in EX or Savage that little bit can be the literal difference between clearing or not clearing a fight.

Bard is more about dots and procs and their songs. Dancer constantly buffs one other player and buffs the whole group during the burst windows.

Dancers focus on buffing one specific buddy, and fire off a STRONG raid buff every two minutes. BRDs instead do a minor raid buff that cycles through the fight, and fire off an okay raid buff every two minutes, but does more personal throughput.

Why am I Past lv50 Without the Abilities of My Job

Typically Job Quests are contained within their expansions separately. If you have not reached the next expansion in , you need to continue the main story quests until you reach the next expansion, denoted by giant letters naming said expansion.

We have outliers when a new expansion drops. They fix those before the first raid tier drops, and then tweak as they go so things get more and mroe balanced. You're now end of expansion.

Bear in mind, a samurai doing a massive burst of damage is only part of the equation. Many jobs have that moment where they do a huge BAM of damage, but that doesn't mean the player is doing strong damage consistantly. While a good samurai destroys everything in its path, a bad samurai is just as low on the totem pole as any other bad player, and they will, in turn, get destroyed by a good player.

Got my black mage to the first duties today. Really struggling with the current speed of the game to contribute. Seems like most of my spells fail on a dead target. Is it a low level issue, or I suppose to change my rotation, or something else?

Actually, another question. I see that there is a window before the cast time actually finished, but you can already move - the spell will be cast. Could someone tell me exact timer for that (like, 0,3 second of cast time left)? Or does it depend on spell cast length?
Also, not totally sure, if I move out of AoE damage using that method, will it still clip me? (Regardless if it is feature or server lag)

There's some garlean soldier armor you'll get automatically in the MSQ iirc. One set in ARR and another in SB.

There are two imperial soldier outfits given during main quests. The big fancy armor sets, however, are unobtainable. There are a few armor sets that you can acquire using tokens from the Save the Queen related raid that resemble FFXII Judge armor. Nothing like the Garlean stuff unfortunately.
