Not on the free trial. Power leveling crafters with gil usually involves buying mats from the market board or levelkits from other players.

Plus, if you're not looking to raid, ACT is virtually useless; it's a parsing meter, and little more than that.

Look at the level of the quests you are completing. If you're doing MSQ quests that are lower than level 50, you're not there yet. You'll start getting a few quests that are level 50 around the obvious 'oh this is getting to the end of this story' parts, leading to a quest 'The Ultimate Weapon.' After that quest, you'll have flying in ARR.

After The Ultimate Weapon, you're going to do six patches worth of story to lead into Heavensward, with one unique trial in MSQ per patch. Once you're done the sixth trial, you'll notice the story is ramping up towards something. No. You cannot unlock level 50 battle content without completing level 50 story content. This is how this game works: Stuff is locked behind story and not level. If you grind to level 80 and you haven't done level 50 story, you get no access to level 80 endgame stuff.
Do not grind levels on your first job, and expect to get 'some end game.' This game will nott reward you for it.

By the time you do have leylines, you have swiftcast, aethierial manipulation, thundercloud, and firestarter. You get sharpcast soon after. The only tools remaining at higher levels are triplecast and xenoglossy.
