t8s you could probably get rid of, but tbh i would still keep them
since crafting and gathering doesn't quite operate on the same principle as combat materia
if you're overmelding, you're going to be needing the lower grades
t8s/6s are easier to get rid of though because they have the same rule in that they can only be overmelded once
but the overmeld chance on those are going to be a bit higher than the new higher grades that come with the expansions so you may want to hold onto them since they can be cheaper choice to meld for the first overmeld slot when the lvl 90 stuff comes
