a lot of times it does fix the launcher issues, if it still doesnt work then its likely that you had the game installed on another drive or something and its all corrupted

I think a reinstall is the only solution if the Final Fantasy 14 folder is deleted as a whole in the documents folder, in that case the installation is corrupted.

no, there are certain points where its recommended to spend currency you've earned to buy gear. Specifically at 50/60/70, since the gear bought with poetics is very strong and will last you for 5~ levels

The fastest way to max ARR beast tribes is to focus on the 4 battle ones first maxing them to rank 4, by doing only the highest reputation ones and after that spam all 12 allowances on Ixal to max them out on rank 7.

That way you can max ARR beast tribes in 35 days and unlock rank 8 (Allied) for them.

The HW, SB and ShB are straightforward, just do 3 every day, but mind that ranking up do give 3 extra quests once and those are also counted for the allowances.

It takes 41 days to max out the HW beast tribes and 31 days for the SB and ShB one. (Rank 8 to Rank 9: Allied.)

Besides looks, all mounts are the same speed along with being able to fly. Some mounts allow multiple people to ride at once.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

So I have my PS4 controller connected by cable, Steam recognized it fine, and I can use Big Picture mode to navigate around and start the game.

I've setup and chosen a Controller Configuration for FFXIV, no problems.

I load into the game and got the Controller Calibration screen - great, I though it recognized the controller. However, it marked it as an XBOX 360 controller for Windows, and the calibration doesn't work, no inputs I press are registered by the game itself, and I can't calibrate the controller, nor can I use it to control when I get in-game, even after swapping from keyboard to controller mode.

How can I get my gear melded?

To meld visible Materia slots a NPC melder in any major city will do (marked with a Blue Materia icon on the map). To overmeld gear you'll need to request another player to meld your gear or to do it yourself.

Why can't I meld this Materia to my stuff?

Every Tier of Materia has a minimum item level requirement that gear must meet to allow melding of that Tier. Tier 6 Materia requires an item level of 290 while Tiers 7 and 8 require an item level of 420.

Why is my meld giving +0 stats?

Every item has a maximum amount of stats that can be given through melding and the natural stats found on the gear. This can be seen at the bottom of the Materia Melding menu, as seen in the picture below.

The secondary stat with a higher number is already at the cap and cannot be further melded.
