Everything requires you to do the story, which is an easy 100 hours of playtime give or take in itself. The classes are pretty varied, and overall complex enough. The playerbase is also pretty friendly to newer players, albeit as a collective somewhat more casual than other MMOs
however, if you do have experience in other MMOs, if you go in expecting a story-weighted MMO you likely won't find a lot that will throw you off
