You can play on any world on any datacenter within FFXIV. Aside from the languages spoken, the physical location of the servers, and the status of each world, there are no major differences.

You can also link Glamour Plates to each Gear Set so Jobs that use the same items can have different looks, but again, that'll only work if you change jobs in a Capitol.
