Mounts FAQ

'When can I get my first mount?'

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose and you'll need to buy the Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 needed Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes after 'The Company You Keep'.

'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Besides looks, all mounts are the same speed along with being able to fly. Some mounts allow multiple people to ride at once.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

Stick with the msq, and you'll get it. Just gut it out on one class until it's unlocked and you'll never have to think about it again. =D

Why can't I enter this server?

Standard, Preferred, and New Servers will dynamically open and close themselves from newly created characters depending on how many players are online. To ensure you're able to make a new character on your server try waiting or doing so at a less active time of day.
Congested Servers will not unlock for new players or transfers until Square Enix removes the Congested Status.

Found it. Except one big problem. The Master Weaver books are in Volumes and I would have to purchase them in numerical order. Sometimes it requires certain raids to get said scrips. And it can take many months to get the requisite scrips needed to purchase the book.

the umbral ice phase you want to keep as short as possible but "long" enough to make sure you get your mp back in full, with a bad mp tick 2 umbral ice gcds might not be enough

Also the rotation is a lot less complex but when you get heat blast if you have fairly high ping it can be a pain in the ass since your heat blast phase consists you just mashing certain buttons as fast as possible

As long as you're playing a Disciple of War or a Disciple of Magic class that's a lower level than your highest level class then you're able to benefit from the bonus experience. You do not need to have a class at level 80 for the bonus to be active.

'How much is the bonus experience?'

You get +100% experience from levels 1 to 69, which then reduces to +50% for level 70 to 79. The difference in level between your current class and highest class does not change the amount of experience you get.

If you're on the free trial, you can't invite others to your own party, but others can invite you.

Which Grand Company should I choose?

The only differences between the three Grand Companies are the looks of the equipment and where they're located. How do I get Grand Company Seals?

You can get more seals mainly by completing your Grand Company Hunting Log (Go to the Hunting Log and click on the GC icon), completing FATEs, and turning in crafted/gathered items to the Personnel Officer if you have crafting or gathering classes unlocked. Once you are Sergeant 2nd Class you can turn in Pink/Green/Blue-rarity gear in exchange for more seals.

There is no such thing as a decipher level, you can use it. It shows the way to a treasure chest, which spawns some trash mobs and then gives some loot when you open it. It has a 50% chance to open a portal to a treasure map dungeon, which you can take on with a party. Would recommend at least three players.
