I am a brand new player coming in from the WoW mythic raid scene. I am almost completely ignorant on this game and would love some advice. I'm currently reading through the new player resources in the pins but have a few things I haven't found the answer to yet:

1. Do races matter for throughput or is it a cosmetic choice?
2. Thematically, I'm love me some Espers (Terra 4 life!), Gamblers and Dragoons so will probably land on one of those three (Summoner, Gambler or Dragoon). Any insight on them relative to each other would be great!!!
3. Is there an (un)spoken raid server?
4. What's the best purchase route atm? Should I wait for a deal on G2A or GMG or something?

i'm a WoW refugee. compared to WoW, you'll find significantly less:
a) politics in main chat
b) people getting kicked out of dungeons for low DPS
c) new people getting kicked for being new
d) negativity in general.

GMs (i've heard) are very good about responding to toxicity, and they really do an amazing job at making sure people can explore the game at their own pace, and have a good time doing it

i don't care about graphics, I get the story is less interesting, I understand your class feels empty at first with less abilities. I understand all that and I know that gets way better later.
What I mean with it feels old or less polished is that animations are lacking or simply not there. turning your character left or right makes it just turn in place for example. there also seems to be quite a bit of latency, even if I'm supposed to be at around 40. I can start moving when my spells have about 0.5 seconds left to cast and it will still go though.
It's mostly little things, but they do add up. And while I am very much tired of wow and have little desire to go back to it, as well as being interested in this game and wanting to see it through, I can't help but notice these things.
So that's why I ask the question, do these things get better later on?

My only complaint with 14 as it stands is difficulty.. it’s easy for the most part but the jump for normal to extreme/savage is masssssive so I think they either need to bump up difficulty of base stuff (which may happen with the damage rescale) or do what wow does with the mythic stuff and have it scale up more

just the general rotation starting everything out, as far as i understand it its standard step -> double standard step, then for single target use cascade + fountain until you get flourishing fountain, then use fountainfall + reverse cascade, save up feathers until i get to 4 and then burst?
