DR is overall faster and has potential of making a lot of Gil through the Golden Gabriel and haircut drops

You can probably find the appropriate level and type of materia on the MB

@proper magnet You need to meld the staff with any materia you can get. You can meld it yourself, or you can talk to a Materia NPC and have it melded for you.

If you do not have possession of a materia at the moment, you can get it from either going to the Marketboard and going for the cheapest Tier I you can find, or converting a 100% spiritbonded low level gear that you're willing to dispose of.

Looking over the optional stuff for level 50, nothing else sticks out to me as being super important. You can always go back to them later. The dungeons will fill out your options for the 50/60/70 roulette.

What they're talking about here is something that is in almost every boss fight, or at least the major ones. You'll get a phase with a boss flies off and summons a bunch of ads or summons some sort of Crystal or any number of visual ways of representing it..... And you'll usually get a gauge of some sort of the boss powering up or a timer. if you kill the ads or do the thing it's telling you to do before the gauge fills up or before the timer fills out, you live...... If not your whole party gets blown to pieces

Wall to wall is common in the expansion dungeons in duty finder. Those dungeons are more structured with it in mind to prevent pulling too much. It's just the ARR dungeons where it's difficult to do it.

Leveling any one crafter just to make gear isn't really a good idea, way more expensive/time consuming, just buy NPC/MB gear for now & work on your crafters when you can

When you use duty finder to join dungeons that are lower level than you are, your level is synced to that dungeon's level. Unsynced allows you to do it without syncing, but requires you to form your own party or do it alone.

1. How do I contact a mentor ingame? I heard there was a system like that.
2. Is selling gear that I've replaced on my character the best thing to do? Or can I use it for a profession or something? (like disenchanting it in wow, for example)

To unlock your class' job you need to be level 30, complete all of your class quests and the main scenario quest 'Sylph Management' (lvl 20 quest) to be able to pick up your job unlock quest. Once you've done the initial unlock quest, you will be given a soul crystal which you must equip to become your class' job.
