Not too hard these days with elemental armour and all but you really need to do the mechanics. Otherwise you're out of the count if you dont reraise. People still use discords for it

if the char is on the mog station, then you're logging in the wrong datacenter/server
go back to the main screen and select the correct datacenter, then in the char selection screen select the correct server

To clarify - major maintenance (patches and expansions) will never end early. Minor maintenance (like the upcoming one) can have varying times, but will usually end early or on time.

If you want to take it slow and easy, then just do the challenge log and fashion report every week for like 80-100k a week for little effort. If you want to grind for it do the mining/botany mini game on the top floor of the gold saucer.

There's no reason to use Benefic when Benefic II is available. Draw and Lucid Dreaming are enough to keep your mana up unless you're having to raise 10 people. Only keep Benefic around for lower level dungeons where II isn't available due to level sync.

Its df so people aren't always going to be the most skilled
And then people not respecting mechanics
This isn't to say you never gcd heal

And the less dps that comes out of the party the longer a fight takes which results in more healing/resources needing to be used

If I had to give you (very loose) guidelines on how to prioritize your game time it would be pretty much the way you're doing it right now, namely:
- MSQ
quests, they gatekeep pretty much everything content-wise - Blue+ quests, they usually unlock relatively important side content, side story stuff, as well as dungeons around milestone levels (50,60,etc) and other features like glamour/dye/housing districts etc
- regular (!) quests, might be low on the priority, however, you could argue that some of them are worth going through as they can unlock down the line (ie: beast tribes are often locked behind completing some side quests before you can unlock them) or some of them are considered "side story" if they have for example a screenshot/picture in their quest window.
the "levequests" you're mentioning are worth doing only as lowest priority (for battle classes) or as leveling material for crafters/gatherers
