Compared to Zodiac and Eureka, itâs pretty tame. It also helps that you can stockpile materials for future weapons for whenever you have spare poetics.
Zodiac requires a lot of pure Gil (400k at the bare minimum) and Eureka has an entirely separate level system attached to it.

First, will the world always be divided into zones or will it be bigger but less zones later on? I don't mind either way, but am curious to see what changes there are after ARR is finished.
Second, where can I learn to write macros. It seems useful but I don't know where to start for a true "beginner's guide" type of thing rather than just copy-paste examples to make stuff work.
Third, how does the unlocking of dungeons (and raids) work? I'm currently 7 seven levels ahead of the last batch of dungeons and I don't know how to make new one's with higher levels appear.
Fourth, is it possible to play with a friend if we started on different servers. I know you can visit, but I don't know how far that extends.
And fifth, are certain servers more populated by certain languages than others, and if so, where can I see which one is which.

- not sure about any guides but the user macros menu has a list of all the commands and how to write them which is pretty good
- really depends, some are MSQ, all the raids and some optional dungeons and trials are
in the world - the only main thing you can't do with that friend is simply be in the same FC but that doesn't stop you from doing stuff together
- generally for EU Shiva is unofficial German, Moogle unofficial French and that's about it

For context, almost every character I've made, I've started as Conjurer (healer). It's in many ways more painless than the times that I've started as a dps because I can heal myself as I go.
And my queue times are short, so I can get in and out of most instances fairly quickly.

Things will get slightly more interesting when you get to level 30 and can go from the base class (GLD) to the full job (PLD), since you'll start getting more abilities at that point.

I don't care what ilvl 495/510 vs 530. So I think stats building is more important than just ilvl itself. Am I looking at this correctly? You can have ilvl 530 with pointless stats like Spell Speed for RDM =/= not optimize build.

There's a balance between ilevel vs stats. The Balance discord does a lot of the math, and often "BiS" sets for classes end up being a combination of gear from different sets. ilevel is still important, so a 530 piece with mediocre stats is still generally going to be better than a 495 piece with amazing stats, though.
Generally what you're going for, though, will be hitting specific stat goals for your playstyle.

Around level 54 in the MSQ you start getting i133 gear. So Ironworks lasts all of post-ARR and about halfway through 3.0.
The level 60 job quest does offer higher ilvl gear, but by then you might also have access to Idlyshire and Shire gear which is even better.

and when you finish 2.55, you'll get access to your 50-60 class quests. If you got the requisite zones, you can just blitz through them and get higher level gear
