That happened to me too, only in my 4th run I did well the magitek part. I suggest just running without killing anything and try to get first to the transporters, just fight when its mandatory to advance, and if u die, revive inmediately (probably no one will revive you) and use shortcut at the beginning to fast advance the part u already passed.

The demimateria needed for the demimateria books come from desynthing low level combat and non-combat equipment, around level 10-20
