I don’t recommend using normal quality vendor gear anymore unless you don’t have any other option

Past level 50, and especially past 60, the stat gap between normal quality and high quality increases a lot, and especially so for the weapon slot.

At level 60 you have your i210 job gear from your level 60 job quest, if you’re playing ARR/HW jobs. That stuff should be better or on par with the i255 normal quality gear

There’s also the augmented shire gear from Idyllshire which is i270 and definitely beats out the i255

Wondrous Tails

Wondrous Tails are unlocked by speaking to the Unctuous Adventurer for the quest Keeping Up with the Aliapohs in Idyllshire upon reaching level 60 with at least one combat class.

Speaking with Khloe Aliapoh afterwards will give you a journal that has a series of random combat challenges to be completed which award you with a sticker that appears on the right-hand side of the journal. This journal can be accessed from the key items section of your inventory.

Your goal is to try and collect 9 stickers from completing those challenges. The stickers will appear in a random location on the 4x4 grid, but can occasionally align and form a straight line of 4, which can award you with additional rewards. Multiple line orientations are possible, with 3 lines being the most difficult to accomplish. Here is an image that shows how your stickers can be lined up so you can have the highest chance of 3 lines. Use the 'second chance' points you earn from completing content with new players to shuffle your 4x4 board around to try for 3 lines! To view what the possible rewards are for the Wondrous Tails or to see when they reset, use the !wt in #kupo-bot-spam Good luck!

You need to have the class that can make the gear levelled to the same level as the gear to meld it. So, for a cloth chestpiece, you'll need WVR to 80, for leather boots, LTW, and so on.

You can request overmelds from a crafter though

The Road to 70 buff is only for people creating new characters on a Preferred server (or transferring from a Congested server to the Preferred one). You'll keep that regardless of your party status, but people from other non-Preferred servers won't have that buff.

Preferred servers change usually every major content patch.

Running wise its shorter distance for gridania since the leatherworkers guild is due east of the mih khetto amphitheatre aetheryte where the mailbox is

But if you use aethernet shards then they are about the same with kugane being a tad shorter
