I’m not sure what you mean by big sense of progression, MJ, but there’s a lot of stuff you can get from the normal raids
And there’s story attached to all of the raids.
( I personally thought the last four of the current tier were a bit lacking in story, though apparently everything in the 5.x raid is a big FF8 reference?)

The quests between "The Ultimate Weapon" and "Coming to Ishgard" are "post-ARR" content. Basically they were level cap content that gave no experience at the time, so they only give small amounts now to prevent gross overleveling.

If you are the main tank, make sure the boss is hitting you and make sure to pop cooldowns for heavy hitting attacks (also known as tankbusters). If you are not the main tank, make sure you are ready to turn your stance on if any adds spawn around the arena and pick them up. last, and most important, make sure you are doing as much damage as possible. ABC = always be casting. so always be pressing buttons to do damage.
