'How can I unlock Flying?'

Flying is unlocked through the collecting of a zone's Aether Currents, with every zone having ten 'green' Aether Currents found in the overworld and five 'yellow' Aether Currents obtained through the MSQ and side quests marked with a plus sign. Azys Lla is the only zone to not have any green Aether Currents. You must collect all Aether Currents in a zone to be able to fly.

Flying is unlocked in A Realm Reborn zones simply by completing the level 50 story quest 'The Ultimate Weapon'.

'Where can I find the green Aether Currents?'

Upon obtaining the Black Chocobo mount you are also given an Aether Compass, which is a key item you can use to locate the nearest non-quest Aether Current. 'When can I get my first mount?'

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose and you'll need to buy the Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 needed Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes after 'The Company You Keep'.

'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Besides looks, all mounts are the same speed along with being able to fly. Some mounts allow multiple people to ride at once.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

To unlock your class' job you need to be level 30, complete all of your class quests and the main scenario quest 'Sylph Management' (lvl 20 quest) to be able to pick up your job unlock quest. @lament basalt all these said, from level 30+ onward, experience earned from dungeons become pretty consistent in proportion to your level. It works out to "7 runs of the highest level dungeon you can get into, will work out to around 2 level". Please take note that dungeons that are exactly level 50, 60, and 80 are the exception, they were the endgame dungeons in their respective expansion, so their exp yield is not very good.

You can just fly around in a loop to look out for them

Even if someone else killed them, they will respawn in a few minutes (on one of the spawn points)

It's all black but my cursor will change when I hover over where that button should be

When I got to the part where I enter the confirmation code sent to my email and clicked where my cursor changed I got an error instead of anything happening and had to close the launcher

But since that email was already sent I can't use that email to try and register online for 24 hours

Somebody mentioned earlier that you don't gain stats by leveling up, and all of your stats comes from your equipment/items

So how do stats and equipment work in this game

you do gain stats from leveling, but they are tied to your classes and jobs, not your character

being a level 80 dark knight won't help you if you switch to a level 10 gladiator, stat-wise

Like if I'm a Lv 40 Bard for example but I wanna switch and try out a Conjurer or something

every other job will have a quest you can pick up to unlock it

@dire prawn I'm going to assume you know nothing so basically -
One stat is going to be your primary stat. For example, for melee DPS, their primary stat is Strength. So all of their gear will have strength on it.
Vitality is a stat everyone has, and that determines your max HP.

Then there's secondary stats.
Critical Hit increases your chance for, and damage of, critical strikes. Basically a chance to hit alot harder
Direct Hit is basically the same thing but a bit weaker of an effect. They can happen simultaneously though
Determination is a flat modifier to damage/healing
Skill Speed / Spell Speed makes you cast faster, or lets you use your actions faster. Casters use Spell Speed, everyone else uses Skill Speed.
Tenacity is a tank only stat that reduces their damage taken. Its generally avoided even by tanks though.
Piety is a healer only stat that improves their mana regen.

provided you have unlocked the ability to do so via the quests

for instance, if you wanted to pick up conjurer, you'd head to gridania, do the quest Way of the Conjurer, and now you can equip conjurer canes

You'll be level 1 conjurer

Generally speaking when it comes to gear, your priority while levelling up should always be :
Item Level > > > > Critical Hit > Direct Hit > Determination

To explain item level - its basically a number that represents the stat budget on the item. Higher item level gear will always have more weapon damage / primary stat on it. When you mouse over an item, you'll see something like this :
