I would still get the relic though. Unless you want to do current tier savage, which I don't recommend if you're new, the i500 relic is "good enough". Plus you're gonna Probably want to get the upgrade done at some point anyways.

So I wanted to get back into playing ffxiv and so I went to my account on mogstation to reactivate my subscription but it's saying I don't have a service account. I checked to make sure I didn't cancel my service account but that wasn't it. It's like my account is brand new and doesn't register that I purchased the game previously. eureka technically has a set of armor that can beat tome gear in some slots when melded, but it's not really relevant
it takes dozens of hours of grinding to get there
and it'll only very slightly better on like one or two slots
the only relevant gear to compare to tome would be savage drops, but you're probably not getting into a group farming those at this point in time, and it's just not really worth it over just farming some roulettes for poetics

if you have tank stance on, you will have aggro, they made it irrelevant, so after that it's just a matter of making sure you hit every enemy(you have aoe skills, Overpower for WAR), make sure you don't stand in aoes(but don't move if you don't have to, so melees can hit positionals) and use your defensive cooldowns not only whne you're low, but more to prevent getting low in the first place
