since one, it'll save on inventory space since they use the same gear (barring the main and off hands) and two you will often need materials from the other crafters
so unless you're willing to spend gil to buy the materials you can't make, it'll be less costly if you just craft everything yourself

You only ever really need to press R2 or L2 when using the hotbar for a split second really as you press the other corresponding button

@cold steppe healers are always targetted, so you can just move back regardless, and then you can see if you got targetted more easily too

To add onto this @midnight magnet theres a limit to how much of each substat you can meld on a piece of gear so you would meld to maximize the amount of stats you can get on a piece of gear. Ilvl and mainstat increases are generally far more important anyways, especially if you don't do savage and above difficulty content
