I can guarantee you that this is not the case. Ping is dependent primarily on distance between you and the data center, and secondarily the routing that it takes to connect you to there. Even if you're living directly next to the data center, you're not getting 10 ping. Even across the US you're looking at 90ms+ ping, from EU to NA you're definitely up in the 100-150 range at least. It's not a case of good/bad internet, but just distance itself

content is done cross Data Center, so server choice doesn't matter too much. every NA data center is populated, so no need to worry about being on a dead server. I recommend joining a preferred world for the exp bonus, it helps with leveling alt jobs
