yes, it should though ideally micon should be at the bottom of the macro and should put as many lines of the /ac part as possible just to help make sure it goes off

they have the same leve icon, but they're usually wearing grand company gear/colours

macro error/action error just turns off the error messages that will appear on screen when you try to use a skill to fast/gcd isn't finished

so 1-15 can do mostly via the hunting log and fates if you feel like it

15+: queue for sastasha or palace of the dead which ever will be quicker queue. when you hit 16, do your daily leveling roulette and then just either do highest level dungeon or potd

Hey guys, I have a question. Im new and I saw that if you create a char on the servers with a star that give bonus exp to new players, you're supposed to get 1m gold and 15 days of playtime upon hitting level 30. I hit 30 but didn't get either, I know i'm supposed to get these as i got the level 1 silver chocobo feathers, am on Zodiark if it matters, any idea why?

No I don’t think you need to learn fight with scholar. It’s just not as easy as white mage I say. But I learned everything as a scholar. And I find it easier then whm it’s all who you start with I feel. @little moat

Scholar is the "shield" healer and has a plethora of free healing, though most of it is tied to Aetherflow resource while the rest is from the fairy

Astro is the jack od all trades...has a shield or regen stance (regen is typically better in majority of scenarios)...main gimmick is its cards which gives a short damage buff to people

Generally, no. I'd only recommend it if you're a completionist since you can do nearly everything else with 3 jobs (tank, healer, DPS) since Arcanist counts as both a Healer and caster DPS once you unlock the jobs so you just need a Tank and a physical DPS for the Shadowbringers role quests

Overmelding applies only to crafted gear, and is basically just a way to add more base stat values to your gear. Again, it's not something you really need unless you're doing cutting edge progression or looking for pre-raid BiS.

Otherwise it's a huge waste of resources. You can get along just fine with base-level (2 materia) melding on tomestone gear, even in Savage/EX.

Which world should I pick?

You can play on any world on any datacenter within FFXIV. Aside from the languages spoken, the physical location of the servers, and the status of each world, there are no major differences.

The majority of content is cross-world, with the exception of Free Companies, Linkshells, and restrictions when visiting other worlds.

If you don't mind where you play, choose a world that is Preferred or New for character creation bonuses. Check world status by using !status <world name> or via the Lodestone. For information about the status types, use !faq worldtype.

I think in terms of “canon” you search for ||Alphinaud|| first due to a possible error in dialog but either is fine to start with.

You may have passed the point before this was put in place, but currently Crystal Tower is required for you to pass a certain MSQ point - that's because it's really integral to the plot of Shadowbringers

max rank for beast tribes is Allied, but that requires you to have leveled all of the beast tribes for that expansion to be able to pick up and do the allied beast tribe quest to get there

but before that ARR combat tribes max out at Trusted (rank 4) with Ixali maxing out at Sworn (rank 7)

the most important bluequest at 50 to unlock are the hard mode trials, which starts in the waking sands with the quest "A Recurring Problem" and the Crystal Tower Raid series, which starts in mor dhona with the quest "Legacy of Allag"

Its easier for voidgates and in general dodging his aoes as if you have him by a wall, then if you need to dodge to the wall then you dont have much room

good macro practice:

Repeat /ac lines to help with reliability, since if it's just the one line and you're in animation lock or otherwise lag slightly while that line tries to execute, it'll skip it. Put /merror off at the top to prevent error message spam, or you can disable the error message spam entirely in settings (I don't recall offhand exactly where)
Put /micon at the bottom. While it's rather minor it still causes a very slight delay, and it costs nothing to put it at the bottom instead of at the top
