just for the record @merry umbra, any MSQ-tied dungeon/trial is going to be in a duty roulette.. This makes it so there's no "dead" content or progression blockers for the main scenario. Dps will have to wait longer just as in any MMO, but it WILL eventually pop. enable French and other languages too so you can get matched with them also and -slightly- decrease queue times pending which EU server you're on.

They made the starter gear (chest, hands, legs, feet) all ilevel 5, so yeah, you only need a helm, which you can get from a vendor if you haven't already gotten one from your job quests.
Vendor helm should only run you about 100 gil at the most.
