Hey all! So just curious, without enabling minimum item level sync, are events like the minstrels ballad for ultima weapon still balanced to be challenging? I wasn’t sure if their natural sync is enough to keep them tough, or if they’re synced too high to be difficult like the praetorium

ultima EX still follows the general ARR sync of 130 iirc
but yes minimum ilvl sync makes things harder because youre basically putting your gear at the very minimum required

Basically the biggest difference between synced and min ilvl for old content is potentially the DPS check. Mechanics will have to be dealt with the same. Though higher ilvl might let you skip some toward the end as well
And stuff will hit harder on min ilvl. Somethings might kill you that would be survivable at just synced

Decide which city you want your retainer to be in (minimal effect - taxes change by 1 or 2% every so often) and then hire a retainer through the Vocate. You can have 2 with a base subscription and you can purchase more to hire in-game through the Mog Station.
