How do I unlock my job?

To unlock your class' job you need to be level 30, complete all of your class quests and the main scenario quest 'Sylph Management' (lvl 20 quest) to be able to pick up your job unlock quest. Once you've done the initial unlock quest, you will be given a soul crystal which you must equip to become your class' job.

I have a question about gathering collectibles. Originally, items such as Pyrite and Yellow Copper Ore were useless besides being collectibles. Normally you'd just use Collector's Glove on them. But now that the Glove is gone, what am I supposed to do when I go to the Unspoiled Patch with normal Yellow Copper Ore and I can't turn it into a collectible?

For the area immediately leading up to the boss you’ll need to clear one side and stand on the button, wait for it to be done, and then die on the death wall so you can go to the other side to do the same thing

I'm using a xbox controller and it's the same way as PlayStation. R1 is to switch hold r1 and any of x o square and triangle, 5 6 7 and 8 are all your hotbar. Just assign your actions there

not only do they make components for each other but there is not a strict crafting class - combat class gear mapping (i.e. casters like conjurer/white mage usually wear cloth armor but not always)

I have Logitech G600 (12 thumb buttons), which I set the extra buttons to map to the function keys (F1-F12), which I've remapped to correspond to abilities rather than party member targeting and other minor functions which those keys are mapped to by default. It's really up to you, but I would strongly recommend mapping your mouse buttons to abilities that you want access to but don't have a better way to use on the fly.

Hey, new player here, I just ran Cutter's Cove and got a weapon for my class slapped into my inventory after the final boss without it going through the party loot/rolling stuff. Does that exist in every dungeon, is there just a chance to get the weapon you need?

(I've also run the dungeon on both DRG and WHM a bunch of times without getting the lance before)
