But the biggest point where people have issues for the fight is for LR, which won't be made any bit easier by having more gear. In general most of the difficulty is from mechanics that will just kill. So won't make all that much of a difference, really

the white scrip gear is decent stepping stone, but it basically depends on what you're aiming to do with lvl 80 crafters
if you want to be a serious end-game crafter, you should ideally get the aesthete set and overmeld it

What makes you strong is often understanding your role, your rotation, what ur skills do and how good u are at managing that during dungeons and encounters. I recently tried to voice chat while playing and the lag i experience is terrible and makes the game unplayable. I have to disconnect from the call and then completely restart the game to become lag free again. is there some discord setting i'm overlooking that can help with this?
