BUT you can get crafted gear (which I believe makes it dyable) off the marketboard
or from a crafter

The 2nd to last one is a massive pain in the ass when going in blind.
The Coils (as they are known) predate Savage raids. There was no normal there was just the raids. So they were tuned a little higher than your average normal raid.
but yeah, take some friends and some paitence or get to grinding that marketboard. the craftable stuff is probably better anyway.

Hey guys, I am a new player and not really sure what to expect if I dive into ffxiv and figured this discord could help me out. How long does it take to be max level or at least experience end game content? That seems to be what people say the game does really well, so I dont really want to spend months just getting to the good stuff. "max level" doesn't matter, you're gated by story progress. you could have five level 80s but if you haven't done the story then you can't do endgame content anyway

it's a consideration towards optimizing around stat tiers and looking at the overall multiplier. It's not that it's recommending det over dh, but moreso that the combination of stats with that spread is better than if you were to swap particular melds from det to dh
still a minimal difference, but when you look at optimizing a full sets you can find some "unexpected" melds compared to what you might think when looking at a stat priority or whatever

you could do a Shadowbringers Resistance weapon then go do Anima then head to Eureka to get a Stormblood Eurkean weapon.
there is a tiny benefit to doing an ARR relic before a Heavensward Anima. You can turn in a completed relic to skip a step.
but the step you're skipping is easy and not worth the hassle of making a relic weapon just for that
