The only thing you won't be able to access no matter what is the Aesthetician. You'll have to travel back to Eorzea for him.
Scepters are leftovers from 1.0.
As you level up beyond ARR your only gear option is going to be the two-handed staff.
Scepter/shield is just a low level thing.

The main money gate on the cashmere poncho is the fine alumen, which is voyage only aka you can't even farm maps for it. Fine alumen goes for like 200-250k on my server atm

Here's where to buy what to avoid spending too many poetics:
- Unidentifiable: You can get them from ARR/HW beast tribes, but I wouldn't bother with them unless you already have the tribe currency saved up. You can also buy two of them with allied seals and fragonskin maps sometimes drop them.
- Crafted items: GC seals, 80k in total.
- Allagan oil: There's a repeatable in Mor Dhona that gives you one oil per complete Crystal Tower raid series. Used to be weekly but is now infinitely repeatable.
- Pneumite: GC seals, uuugh 60k total iirc. Also allegedly dragonskin maps.
- Singing cluster: Can't pre-farm but you'll get repeatable dailty/weekly quests to get them for free. I recommend continuing doing the repeatables even after you're finished with your first anima.

If you don't already have the starter edition, it's a full upgrade with no wasted money.
If you do have the starter edition, purchase Shadowbringers on its own instead.

Why can't I try more than one thing on a time but my brother-in-law can? I want to see how an entire outfit looks on me but when I "try on" the augmented coat of casting on, and then I go to "try on" the gloves of casting it swapps the two instead of showing them together. Welp, just started a leveling daily roulette.
And it seems like I'm learning some good stuff from the other paladins I watched in other encounters.
Where they ran ahead to aggro while the team dealt with stuff.
I managed to do a lower level encounter where I was more comfortable with 'trash pulls', where I wouldn't do one by one.
But occasionally I would move on before the last one died, or try to pull in more at the same time.
