We use the same computer so I went to the square enix site and made a new square enix account for him and downloaded the free trial launcher. I was hoping the launcher would recognize that I already have the game downloaded but it still starts up downloading the game. I don't want to have the same game downloaded on the computer twice and I also don't want to wait for the long download and just delete the redundant files. Is there a way to cancel the download of files I already have and let him jump into free trial. To add clarification, I play on steam full version and downloaded free trial for PC windows non steam.

'When can I get my first mount?'

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose and you'll need to buy the Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 needed Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes after 'The Company You Keep'.

'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Besides looks, all mounts are the same speed along with being able to fly. Some mounts allow multiple people to ride at once.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

In terms of class design, what is the main difference between Paladin and Warrior? I'm not asking which is better, i know all classes can do everything, but what are their niches or strengths?

like intervention and divine veil

and cover

and naturally is beefy through its shield

also has a magic dps phase and a physical dps phase

forming a strict 62 second loop for its rotation

warrior on the other hand has less party coverage but has one of the best party coverage tools in Shake it Off

and has a lot of self healing tools through thrill of battle, equilibrium, nascent flash

its burst is revolved around 90 second windows of inner release

which let them use their biggest damage spell for free for 10 seconds

and causes them to direct hit crit

in terms of invulnerability, paladin has the best one, hallowed ground, which allows it to be immune to damage for its entire duration, at the cost of a much longer cooldown

whereas warriors invulnerability just doesn't let it drop past 1 hp, and has a much shorter cooldown

The only differences between the three Grand Companies are the looks of the equipment and where they're located. The story doesn't change in regards to the Grand Company you chose beside the quest that comes after "The Company You Keep". How do I get Grand Company Seals?

You can get more seals mainly by completing your Grand Company Hunting Log (Go to the Hunting Log and click on the GC icon), completing FATEs, and turning in crafted/gathered items to the Personnel Officer if you have crafting or gathering classes unlocked. Once you are Sergeant 2nd Class you can turn in Pink/Green/Blue-rarity gear in for more seals.
