Thats something Im not used to. In Wow's Next xpac. You will see looking for, Venthyr, blood elf, outlaw rogue, with x legendary and soulbind/conduits for mythic+3. It's ridiculous. . That's like 8 criterias you need to fill to be picked and non has to do with skill. Also there is the raider io score is 9000+ for a m+3 ofc.

When a game is "Go to the store > get the cake > eat the cake" I remember it - but when it turns into "Go to the store, stop god, understand god's intentions for the fifth realm of the paragon > get the cake > learn that the cake was a prophecy item that was made during the sixth dynasty back in [character that was mentioned a few times and didn't seem that important back then]'s ruling." it just really messes with my head and I can't find any kind of youtubers or anything that goes over the story.

There are multiple lore videos on YT for those, there is New Game+ that has all of that for you (ARR will be added in 5.35 i think it was), there's a "the heroes journey" book to rewatch cutscenes in inns

also for example, ||gosetsu|| back in SB - I remember him faintly but he never ever reappeared but it turns out in some art/lore book he's fine or something and is doing his own thing? Just how much information isn't in the game itself?

I've been playing nearly consistent since I joined but considering how patches can take months I just forget everything.
sometimes the expansions seem to be based on their own worlds/stories, and then the other we'll get "Aha! It was me! King Mightyius all along!" and everyone I know is like "OMG THIS STORY IS LIT BRO!!" and i just don't get it and it upsets me so much

There is one good thing about forgetting it all. You can replay it from the beginning and it will feel like a brand new experience

Yeah i mean...HW+SB are prettty heavily political in nature mixed with..stuff. but honestly take it easy, whereas the lorebooks and short stories DO go into way more detail, check around youtube or ask in #archived-lore-spoilers , a lot of people here have the books and well there's even a lore mentor 😄
