TL;DR for all of this. WHM is reactive. SCH is more about preventing damage/being prepared ahead of time. AST is somewhere in between but has more party buffs than either of the other two. All are viable however and all have their own hooks.

there's also Novice Network ingame which iirc you need an invite from a mentor to, which could be beneficial. It's a really mixed bag due to the usually high level of activity and cause you don't need a huge amount of cred to be a mentor anyway but it might be good for asking q's ingame if you prefer

yeah. the mentor system is there to help new players ingame but since basically all its requirements are are level minimum 2 jobs to 80 and do some dungeons, there's no guarantee every mentor's a font of great and useful knowledge

This is my first mmo and I don't exactly have great social skills so I've been running the game with an irl friend and his guild. Now I've been told that they're probably going to change servers and merge with another guild but because of the current pandemic, I'm trying to save my money as I can't currently work so I won't be able to transfer with them immediately, barring that, the server in question isn't one I would have a good connection with. Does anyone have any advice for what I should do? I'm terrified of having to try and find a new guild, especially considering I'm in the early 60's and most guilds won't be recruiting someone at that level both because its too late for an early recruit and too early for current content.
