Info

'When can I get my first mount?'

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose and you'll need to buy the Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 needed Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes after 'The Company You Keep'.

'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Besides looks, all mounts are the same speed along with being able to fly in the expansion zones. Some mounts allow multiple people to ride at once.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

So I'm at the point where I'm now doing Hard Mode dungeons. Started doing Stone Vigil and our party failed miserably during Cucu Fera. First - I couldn't work the guns. Then we tried that as Tank I pulled the adds into Cucu. But found that even with full enmity that some adds just still attacked the NPC and other players? Is there a way of practicing the cannons or just... have to tackle it again? (We ended up all leaving after the 4th failed attempt)

The boss basically expects all four of you to stay on the cannons, cover each other, and stun the boss to provent him from doing anything. And occasionally run around if he does the spinny attack thin.

Killing the turtle on controller is mostly fighting with the cannons since once aiming is done its fixed until aim for another thing (trash mobs)

Which Grand Company should I choose?

The only differences between the three Grand Companies are the looks of the equipment and where they're located. The story doesn't change in regards to the Grand Company you chose beside the quest that comes after "The Company You Keep". How do I get Grand Company Seals?

You can get more seals mainly by completing your Grand Company Hunting Log (Go to the Hunting Log and click on the GC icon), completing FATEs, and turning in crafted/gathered items to the Personnel Officer if you have crafting or gathering classes unlocked. Once you are Sergeant 2nd Class you can turn in Pink/Green/Blue-rarity gear in for more seals.

'When can I get my first mount?'

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose and you'll need to buy the Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 needed Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes after 'The Company You Keep'.

'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Besides looks, all mounts are the same speed along with being able to fly in the expansion zones. Some mounts allow multiple people to ride at once.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

Question for the WARs out there.

I feel kinda squishy. I'm used to tanking I have PLD at 80 and I really feel like a tank can easily pull 3-4 packs with a half decent healer.

Just did Dohn Mheg there 74 (me and healer were both in 400 gear so that may be a factor) but I was rotating cooldowns basically the same as I do on PLD but obviously with Thrill of the battle and the self heal in but I felt like a burden on the healer

Like I'll usually pull get aggro, pop rampart then once hp begins to lower pop reprisal so they finish around the same time.

Then second I'll use Thrill of battle and self heal for a quick top up

3rd vengeance and reprisal again with raw intuition where I'm getting quite worried

Also, on the topic, once you hit level 30, I recommend you pop by Camp Tranquil (South Shroud) and get the quest "My Feisty Little Chocobo", which makes you able to fight alongside your chocobo in the overworld

You buy EU version, you have to activate the EU version. That being said, once you have your account, you can create a character in any data centre, including Asian ones, so you don't have to play in a European data centre and face ping

#

No, class quests are separate from main scenario, but you need to have completed the MSQ "Sylph Management" to be able to get your job, aka paladin in your case

Right. Rematch must be the level 30 gladiator quest. Finish that and then a new blue quest, Paladin's Pledge will appear.

Also, if you're a novice, make sure to join the novice network! Just /shout in Limsa for an invitation, that usually does the trick, or look for someone with a crown icon next to their name and /tell them and ask for an invite

Crown icons are mentors, experienced players. Novice network is composed of mentors and novices, "sprouts" like you (cuz you have a sprout on your name)
