since you've have most things unlocked, you'll have a bit of gil to start with so it'll be easier to level them then

for end-game, you've got a variety of ways to get gear

for crafted gear though, leveling it specifically for gearing yourself can be more expensive than simply buying the gear as a lot of servers the current highest ilvl crafted gear is relatively cheap

However I'm a bit disappointed with their lack of involvement into the msq (I'm 1/3 into Stormblood right now), without spoiling the story in any way, can I expect some more action on the sea side? Cooking isn't worth it for leveling, but at max level can make pretty decent income since raiding food is usually a consistent seller

ya getting to max lvl makes a fair bit of things easier

keep in mind though this is just my recommendation. If you want to dabble in them now, by all means feel free to do so. I just recommend this because crafting is a fair bit involved, its really recommended to level them all together so you keep your inventory somewhat clean, and the fact they rely on each other to a degree (Cul being the only one that's truly independent of the others, alchemist being second in that it doesn't really rely on others too much but makes a fair number of materials for the others)

What are Role Quests?

Role Quests serve as a replacement for Job-specific quests for Shadowbringers and are split into four categories (Tank, Healer, Physical DPS, and Magical DPS). These are unlocked with the quest 'Warrior of Darkness' at 71 and all start in the Crystarium around x10-11, y15-16.

At least one of these Role Quest series must be entirely completed in order to complete the Shadowbringers story. Completion of these quests, along with having the appropriate Job at 80, is also required to claim job-specific level 80 i430 gear from Grenoldt in The Tempest.

Glamour is the process of changing an equipment's look into a different item with the use of Glamour Prisms. You can unlock the ability to glamour by doing the level 15 quests 'If I Had a Glamour' in Vesper Bay, West Thanalan. Although not required, you can unlock the ability to dye gear with the nearby quest 'Color Your World'. You can get the Orange Juice needed by talking to the nearby Merchant & Mender. Items used for glamouring are not lost upon use.

'How do I glamour? Where do I get more Prisms?'

Glamouring is done by right-clicking (Square or X on controllers) on the equipment you want to glamour and choosing the option 'Cast Glamour'. After clicking this you choose the item you want the appearance on the right half of the menu that opened up. You can get more Glamour Prisms by either crafting them after completing the quest 'Absolutely Glamourous', buying them from your Grand Company Quartermaster, or buying them from the marketboard.
