So I've been trying to get a friend to play this with me but I'm having a hard time getting him into it. He's a lvl 24 archer right now but his main complaint is that the gameplay is boring and " I just sit there waiting for my gcds and not really feeling like I do damage" - I talked with another friend who's been playing bard and she agreed that the class is kinda simple and boring. I haven't personally played archer/bard so I can't say.
I'm not gonna force him to play obviously, but I'd like to help him figure out if its the game or the class he doesn't like. Other than trying every class out for 30 levels (because everything is boring at level 10) which of the starting classes might be more active and interactive for him to try out?

Best way to level would probably be to go through floor 51-60 of PoTD since it's a fast queue, decent exp, and could help you learn the abilities you get later in the class.
I'm personally not really knowledgeable to how good bards are, but I'm pretty sure they're good to have because of their songs

yeah shb fates are where it's at. generally i would only recommend fates for short bursts like if you start a new job and don't want to do potd and class quests, blues and hunting log aren't getting you to 16

If you don't want to waste it, i'd wait. You can get a lot of content out of the free trial. It's only worth activating if you want to do non-trial things. IE go over 35

heya, im thinking about trying this game out for pc. I hear there is a free trial version and that its better to play the free trail before buying the game, My question is, where can you download the free trail? i couldnt find it on steam

i don’t think there would be any especially for drk relic because this is the HW expansion so there’s nothing before this

@crystal plume I think most people recommend downloading the trial via Square Enix directly, and then buying it via Square Enix directly as well

@crystal plume the important thing to note is that if you buy on Steam, you're looked in to Steam for good. All future expansion purchases must also be on Steam.

Meet up in one location. Add each other as friend while in person, then you guys can party up later without ever needing to hop worlds again

@winged nimbus you can always make a party yourself. Lakshmi Extreme is probably the easiest of the stormblood primals
