Pretty much, though you do want to fit in a Storm’s Eye combo early on to get the damage buff if it fell off.

I don’t really count abyssal drain as an AoE skill if you are. Pretty sure you just press it whenever it’s off cooldown

Flying isn't strictly from main story

#

once you get far enough in main story in each area you get an aether current that goes towards flying in that area but you also have to do the bluequest that give them and find a bunch in the area. The only exception being the area ||Azys Ila|| which is all main story

These crafting turn ins are getting frustrating. I have to craft a Holy Cedar Armillae (CRP) and on the craft page for it, it says recommended craftsmanship is 519. I'm at 244. To upgrade my gear, I'd like to craft it, but that means I need to level my other jobs. GC turn ins are supposed to help me level. So it seems like a catch 22

I'm getting high enough in DoH/DoL levels (~50) that I can't afford to spend 100-200k on MB for upgrades

In terms of poetics probably the Aetherochemical Research Facility or the Ghimlyt Dark

Doing main scenario, 50/60/70, and alliance raid roulette daily are also pretty decent

If you mean the moogle tomes, then praetorium/Castrum for tanks/healers and probably Dun Scaith/Weeping City of Mhach for DPS.

You must exchange Anemos crystals/Protean crystals with Gerolt in Eureka Anemos.

#

The crystals are earned from grinding FATEs or regular mob chains in Eureka Anemos.

#

You have to upgrade them all the way to Channeler's Halfslops Anemos for them to become dyeable.

Upgrade your ironworks weapon if you haven't already, that'll help a bit.

You can upgrade it with a Carbontwine by talking to Drake in North Shroud at Hyrstmill

As for healing, spamming Adloquium generally means that you're wasting the actual heal part of the spell unless the tank is taking enough damage to benefit from that too.

And don't be afraid to use Whispering Dawn as a tool to heal just the tank

the most current way to do it is to do something with a long cast that will one-shot a mob--Flare can sometimes work from BLM, but generally just hardcast veraero/verthunder from RDM is the method you have to use. If this has been very recently patched out though, I don't know, but things that don't have that long cast haven't worked for a while now. Though, the fastest option either way is still just to tag mobs and have someone not in your party kill them for you

well, BLM isn't especially burst, but big sustain. You have slower, bigger hits. SMN has a good portion of their damage coming from their DoTs, egi, and also from oGCD, so lots of little hits, with some parts of your cycle where you peak a bit in damage

Heyo! So I've only been playing for about 2-3 months now and only recently began levelling a botanist. Last night I discovered a map (my third ever) but it says I need 8 people 60+? Also, the location looks like it's above an area I can't reach by foot. Is a group necessary or can I solo (I haven't made any actual friends yet in game) and do I need to unlock flight to reach this area (on top of a large rock)

Just turn on tank stance and make sure every mob is targeting you

The main difficulty with tanks is knowing when and where to use your cooldowns

personally, I wouldn't recommend gunbreaker to learn as it's personal migitation is quite less in comparison to the other jobs

So you don't have a lot of "fuck up" room if any

(in dungeons, that is.)

so higher level means that previous hunting/gathering missions do go down, to a point

61-70 are 50m with a max lvl retainer, 71-80 is an hr, and everything below that is 40mins

time adjustments are only for hunting/gathering missions.

general recommended leveling is: 1-15= hunting log/fates/palace of the dead.
15+ daily leveling roulette (+alliance/msq 50+)
tanks/healers: highest level dungeon (except 50/60/70, do 49/59/69 dungeons instead)
dps: palace of the dead (51-60 floor spam)/heaven on high at 61 (21-30 floors)

that said if you don't want to do potd/hoh, do fates/beast tribes/hunt bills while waiting in queue for a dungeon

As DPS you're going to have a lot of free time waiting for duties, so I suggest you do hunting logs/levequests/fates at low level while waiting (unless you have a healer/tank friend, then it won't take long on the queue)

new player here - just transitioned from free trial and im very excited. since i wanted to explore a bit before moving on, i am overleveled. i JUST finished my level 20 quest to unlock subclass and im already 36.... i looked at the MSQ list and its massive. since the exp gain is so fast (preferred server) i am considering playing multiple characters through the main story at the same time

no 70 is past arr, somwhere in late heavensward
