Almost every class is viable in every type of thing to do in this game. Some classes are better than others if you Raid but over all you can play any class and be fine in any type of content so in the end it's up to personal preference for class/job.

For expansion jobs (or for returning players who don't know what their job do anymore):
clear up your hotbar. Find a striking dummy (this is a static target for practice). Hit the dummy then add your skills back onto the hotbar one by one. This will simulate "leveling up" the job.

Honestly I moved over to PS4 for that reason alone, the Steam client breaks a lot it seems. For me I had to run it in admin mode 24/7 then re-install the client to get it to work.

Leveling multiple classes on one character is more efficient however I would stick to one class first then level the rest because the higher your main is the longer your other classes get a XP bonus up to level 70 I believe.

The tomestone update is for level 80 tomestones only. It's what always happens with a new even-numbered patch: New raid tier, new gear tiers, new capped tomestone.
Previous capped tomestone becomes uncapped, previous uncapped 80 tomestone becomes depreciated.

I wouldn't say the event is particularly efficient for riding maps.
The hunt is content that's easily accessible to anyone, just show up and fight A ranks or S ranks if they appear + do your weekly B ranks and daily regular mobs from the hunt board.

There isnt really arr hunt trains so it's a lot less effective than blu arena (in terms of lost sanity compared to grinding content for moogle tomes)

Once you've collected all of the aether currents for that zone, you're able to fly there

its a key item and you gotta use it and it'll tell you the nearest current and what direction

At the very least I'd probably set aside time at some point to do the main area sidequest chains (the ones you had to start for aether currents)

Blu you can just run straight to boss and use your sleep ability, aggro boss and the adds with be deaggro'd once the barrier goes up then you kill it with something like launcher
if not doing in a blu group, have the tank grab everything, everyone go into the boss room, tank dies

with a full blu group, non blu might take a little bit longer
