You can "need" only when the item is appropriate for your current job, e.g. if you're WAR you can press need for axes but not any other weapon

It could be locked to healer and caster having the need option for that one as, even though they're equitable by all job, the robes are a healer/caster item

Maybe acolyte's robe is internally flagged as for healer, there's a similar thing in those dungeons (plundered bliaud) that's also for DoM
In later expacs they make the distinction clear so this doesn't happen at lv51 and up

Each planet has separate reward pools but in terms of exp and such they all give the same amount. You can just stick with the latest one if you'd like. There's a new planet coming in a week as well.

Getting gold stars on higher difficulty missions can give bonuses but otherwise, yeah, it doesn't affect exp gain. Just the stuff like research data and class contribution points.

Main thing would be splitting up the target info element into its components and making the target castbar larger and closer to the middle of your screen.
It's important to know what an enemy is casting a lot of the time.
Other than that, splitting up your buffs/debuffs can also be useful so it's easier to see any debuffs you get

It only skips the duty cutscenes after you've seen them once. So you won't have the cutscene flying through the dungeon every time you enter a dungeon you've already done ten times

I would also recommend getting someone to unsync you through the Coils of Bahamut storyline. It's the first raid tier and it has pretty good lore, especially tying in the 1.0 version lore of things that happened before you got to Eorzea. But it doesn't have a "story mode" difficulty option so it's never queued for directly and in no roulettes, so most people end up just unsyncing it and getting the lore that way.
If you aren't on free trial, you can put up a party finder listing asking for a helper and someone will probably bite for all those free first-time bonus poetics. If you are, I would probably ask in Novice Network. Heck, if you want it done today you could DM me, I am working on some relic weapons that require a ton. Regardless, there are some cutscene flags that mark if you did it or not about halfway through the HW patch content so I would have it done before then if you care to do it.

Yes it's the best method for leveling them. Turning in high quality items rewards you with double xp
Though Ishgard is really nice too if you prefer to just make a hundred of one thing and turn it all
Worth noting that you should still be doing Grand Company turn-ins, custom deliveries (when you unlock them), and imo the crafting beast tribe quests (it's pretty much easy free xp every day and once you get high enough reputation you get cool stuff anyway)

I'm just looking through YT videos on jobs and trying to find a balance. I don't think anything would be too difficult (I've tanked and healed in WoW raids) but I'm trying to find something that I can do well at without being overly concerned with tracking stuff and without being bored.
I got to 50 on SMN/SCH and only really started to consider this, haha, but now other jobs have opened up. I never really liked Warlock on WoW (if you're familiar with this) because of DoTs though. Does SMN still only need to work with Miasma and Bio?

The main issue with hard mode dungeon farming (even unsynced) is that there are some mechanics that make it so you have to spend some time dealing with things instead of just plowing through the instance at light speed. Even if you do get the potash it's not going to be a mind blowing amount per run.

Spendors Vendor is the name of the NPC in Idyllshire who sells the books. The Tokens you need to get the books are sold by the scrip exchange (any of them). It's just the Tome of Folklore that you must get from the Splendors Vendor for the expansion it covers.
The one for SB is in Rhalgr's Reach, and ShB is in Eulmore when you get to that level

oh if you've already done the main story then queue up for Guildhests while you do the hunting log. Levequests are also a decent way to level at very low levels

If you don't see one then you haven't done at least one leve

and they give ok exp for completion of each one, for 1-15 leveling
and it's completion on each job so you can tick them off on each low level job to get some extra exp
and do hunting log on each class while waiting in queue

there's like a loop in one of the entrance-level early areas, past the entrance point, you go past an arch, turn left, climb up a hill, drop down a 2-step drop and stuff should be respawned

it's basically the 2nd most played mmo after world of warcraft, so if you're into that and final fantasy then definitely get it
you can play the free trial first but it has all the social functions limited and only goes up to lvl 35
but otherwise yeah it's definitely worth getting
it's never too late to get in the game with every even patch like 5.2 coming soon or 5.4 coming later is basically a reset of endgame with everyone doing new content and getting new gear
