The mic you can cheap out on because alot of the "cheap" ones are using the same modules as the higher end ones
For example, the Shure sm57 is still using a capsule from 1965
But then you have these knock offs that use the same capsule
Sure the sounds will be different due to onboard electronics, however most of the manufacturers still do a decent job

so I dug around a bit on the forums and found this post:
1. download, install, execute, relaunch and update. From that point on you should have the issue of the application failing to start.
2. go to applications and right-click on the FFXIV app, choose <show package contents>
3. go into SharedSupport -> finalfantasyxiv -> bin and delete the file <wine64-preloader>
Done! Should you have the same problem as me and it still crashes when entering the registration code (first time users), go to MogStation and register there first!```which seems similarish to your problem

Hi! I’m busy with last minute Xmas stuff but I’ll try to help! Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling? I remember I had an issue when downloading the initial updates, the download would stop and I’d have to start the whole process over. When I stopped using the browser and downloading in the background, instead just letting the installer do its thing without anything else running it went uninterrupted without any issues. Hope this doesn’t come off as the old “did you try turning it off and back on again” tech support trope. I’ll try to help you troubleshoot as best I can!```so maybe there is some weird app conflict when using other applications while its downloading
