I used to have a lot of issues, but thankfully the PC problems were largely solved by building them a SFF Windows box with an SSD when Win8 first came out. SSD has kept it peppy and the only issue was their stupid printers until I finally got them to buy a laser printer.

I am waiting for the game to actually be available again, because they cut off sales and closed new free accounts the SAME day I finally grasped that the Endwalker Benchmark tester is for the whole blasted game, not just "the expansion," ran the tester, and determined that my Dell XPS 13 9350 will (theoretically) run the game. The benchmark came back Low, on the standard laptop stuff.

However, the game won't fit on my harddrive anyway, because it's a 128 GB drive and I'm short about 10 gig of space required. So I'm gonna have to put FF on an external when I can get it.

It has a USB 3.0 port, a USB 3.0 w Power Share port, and a USB-C port.

Do I need to go with an SSD like a Samsung T7, or can I run the game on a flash drive plugged directly into one of the ports?

Not especially, a friend got this for me second-hand because I've been on little chromebooks for the last decade. I don't actually have a disk... or an optical driver for that matter, I'm not sure I can redo Windows. But i keep running out of space, it keeps overheating, doesn't handle stuff so well overall anymore. I think it's mostly a ram and capacity issue, but sometimes the SIM card starts to overheat too. My girl said she's gonna go off if I don't have a new one by spring.

Whenever I start the game, it freezes a lot, especially when moving around or using abilities, the game freezes for a few seconds. The game will freeze when an ability is used, then the next time that ability is used the game wont freeze and just play normally. This seems to be for every ability visual effect and it's really annoying because even though it goes away after awhile of playing, every time I close the game and start it up again all this freezing comes back. It didn't always do this. It only started a few days ago so I'm guessing that the 6.05 patch isn't causing this. Does have to do with the game not preloading effects? How would I fix this?
