i have a question of sorts about getting a new monitor

i'm considering getting a 1440p monitor in the future, maybe during 2026, but i'm somewhat visually impaired with myopia and occasional blurry vision. i've been informed about the benefits of bigger monitors and accompanying technologies like HDR, but i don't know if i can visually perceive the benefits of such things. and if i remember correctly, text renders smaller in higher resolution to make up for the greater screen room.

additionally, a higher resolution monitor certainly would mean more work for my pc's gpu and cpu, but i've also been told that my current monitor's resolution and refresh rate (1080p144) is itself bottlenecking the performance of my pc (7800x3d cpu, 9070xt gpu).

so with that all said...generally what's the pros and cons of a 1440p monitor and what should i look for in a new one?
